Benanti "Contrada Cavaliere" Etna Rosso '19

A legendary producer probably more known for its white wines than reds, the Benanti winery was founded in 1988, and is one of the first fine-wine producers of Etna. This wine comes from a single vineyard on the south side of the volcano. It sits at 900 meters in elevation, with 50-year-old vines. More of a mountain climate, with less rain and a big diurnal temperature shift. This wine performed beautifully, with a richness of fruit and well-integrated tannins.
